MASANORI (MASA) AIKAWA is one of Japan’s leading location managers, and the first Japanese member to be accepted into the Location Managers Guild International. Masa has started his career in 2003 as a runner on a number of feature film and television series productions in the “production department” covers (the responsibilities of budget management, production logistics, locations, meals, and transportation), gaining expertise in all facets of production as well as knowledge and a robust network of locations across Japan. For seasons 1 and 2 of TOKYO VICE, Masa successfully tackled the challenge of location management in what is touted as the world’s hardest city for an international crew to shoot in, blazing the trail and setting a new standard for future international productions planning to shoot in Japan, bringing the most reliable and professional location department in Japan.
相川真範（マサ）は、日本を代表するロケーションマネージャーの一人であり、ロケーションマネージャーギルドインターナショナルに日本人として初めて入会した人物です。マサは、2003年に数々の長編映画やテレビシリーズの制作において「制作部門」（予算管理、制作ロジスティクス、ロケ地、食事、輸送の責任）のランナーとしてキャリアをスタートし、制作のあらゆる側面の専門知識と、日本全国に広がるロケ地の知識とネットワークを身につけました。TOKYO VICEのシーズン1と2では、マサは、海外のクルーが撮影するのに世界で最も難しい都市と言われている東京でのロケーション管理の課題に取り組み、見事にクリアして来ました。日本での撮影を計画している将来の海外作品の先駆者となり、新しい基準を確立し、最も信頼性が高くプロフェッショナルなロケーション部門を日本にもたらしました。
